Type 2 Diabetes Management & Potential Remission
There is strong clinical evidence demonstrating that the right exercise prescription, that is physical activity being prescribed at the appropriate Frequency, Intensity, Time and Type, can help to best manage many health aspects associated with Diabetes:
-
Improving blood glucose levels and insulin sensitivity
-
Enhancing body composition by increasing lean muscle mass and reducing body fat
-
Reducing waist circumference and visceral fat
-
Improving cholesterol profiles and cardiovascular health
-
Managing blood pressure to reduce strain on your heart and blood vessels
It is well documented that managing these aspects of our health significantly reduces the risk of diabetes related complications and helps to set you up for success.
We appreciate that working with evidence is very important, what we equally acknowledge, is that living with a chronic condition is also challenging emotionally. It is for this reason that our approach is considerate of this.
Live Actively with Type 1 Diabetes
We understand that living with Type 1 is filled with challenges, particularly around exercise and the fears associated with having a 'hypo'. Diabetes Rewind Programme
Our signature Diabetes Rewind program offers a structured, evidence-based approach that may help some people with Type 2 diabetes achieve remission or significantly reduce their reliance on medication.
Grounded in the latest clinical research, this comprehensive program combines precisely tailored exercise prescriptions with nutritional guidance and lifestyle modifications designed to address the root causes of Type 2 diabetes.
The Diabetes Rewind approach focuses on three distinct phases of care using a VLCD and prescribed exercise supervised by a specialist general practitioner designed to support diabetes remission.
Many participants in our Diabetes Rewind program have experienced significant improvements in their blood glucose levels, with some achieving remission – defined as maintaining normal blood glucose levels without medication for an extended period.
Gestational Diabetes: Managing Pregnancy and Diabetes
Gestational diabetes (GDM) requires specialised care and attention during what is already a significant life transition. Our experienced exercise physiologists provide evidence-based support to help you manage your blood glucose levels safely throughout your pregnancy.
We understand the unique challenges that come with gestational diabetes, including the concerns about your health and your baby's wellbeing. Our approach combines clinical expertise with compassionate care to help you navigate this temporary but important health condition.
After delivery, we continue to support your return to exercise safely, helping you establish healthy habits that reduce your future diabetes risk. With up to 50% of women who experience gestational diabetes developing Type 2 diabetes within 5-10 years1, our post-pregnancy care is designed to help you beat those statistics.
Our commitment to the diabetes community.
